eCKD New Year Series

Rules and Regulations

The eCKD New Year Series is a live race series on the Wahoo RGT platform. The fact that it is live means that everyone is racing against each other at the same time.

1. General

• The eCKD New Year Series is an e-cycling series organized by e-Cykle Klub Danmark.
• It consists of 10 stages with the first race on 23 December and the last on New Year's Day.
• Everyone can participate and there is one overall result list. 
• It is a prerequisite for participating in the eCKD New Year Series that the rider saves the race after crossing the finish line. If the race is not saved when the result calculation runs after the race, the race does not count.

2. Registration and participation

• It is free to participate in the eCKD New Year Series.
• Registration link is available on the series's website, https://rgtligaen.dk/nys22, and are listet in the Wahoo RGT event catalog as well. 
• Since it is not possible to start late, you must make sure you are ready in the starting area in Wahoo RGT before the start of the race. As a rule, the starting area opens approx. 30 minutes before the start of the race.
• Participants must use their real name and no sponsor names may be added without prior agreement with eCKD.
• Participants must enter correct weight, and weight must not fluctuate more than 1 kg. per race without prior agreement with the race management.

3. Communication of results

• The aim is for results to be published approx. 3 hours after the start of the race on the league's website.

4. Points

• After each race, points are awarded according to position in the race.
• The point scale is defined for a race with 150 riders as follows:
  • Points for rider no. 1-20 are given by a power function, f(x)=b(x-dx)^a+dy
  • Points for rider no. 21-150 are given by the linear function, f(x)=ystart-(x-xstart), i.e. drop by one point from rider no. 21 and down.
• With 150 participants, the points scale looks like this (rounded values, but are included with decimals on race results and the ranking list):
  • No. 1 gets 255 points, No. 2 gets 236 points and No. 3 gets 222 points
  • Then from position no. 4-20: 211, 202, 194, 187, 181, 176, 171, 167, 163, 160, 156, 153, 151, 148, 145, 143, 141.
  • From position no. 21 to 150: 139, 138, 137, 136, 135, 134, ... 12, 11 and 10 for the last participant.
• A given rider placement in a race with a given number of participants is normalized in relation to a race with 150 participants. This means that the entire scale is used regardless of the number of participants, i.e. it is the first 13.3% (20/150) in a race that get points according to the power function, while the rest are awarded points linearly decreasing by 1.
• In addition, points are adjusted according to the number of participants in the current race as follows:
  • For races with more than 150 participants: A rider's points are increased by 0% at 150 participants to a maximum of 4% at 275 participants. If there are more participants than 275, a constant correction of plus 4%
  • For races with fewer participants than 150: A rider's points are reduced by 0% for 150 participants to a maximum of 4% for 70 participants. If there are fewer than 70 participants, it is constantly corrected by minus 4%
    (An example: A 1st place in a race with 220 participants will give 260.8 points, whereas a 1st place in a race with 80 participants will give 246.1 points).

5. Overall Ranking

• A riders 5 best stage results count towards the overall ranking.
• In addition, a participation bonus is given. This bonus is based on the rider's number of completed races, in relation to the total number of completed stages in the league at any given time. The bonus is awarded as follows, which means that after 10 stages a 5% bonus is awarded if a rider has completed all stages:

6. Disqualification

• Riders who over 5 min. produces more than 6 W/kg and over 20 min. produces more than 5.2 W/kg is automatically disqualified. W/kg is calculated as watts/weight and no decimals are thrown away.
• The above can be waived if the rider can prove that the performance is due to the rider's physical ability, and not the rider's equipment. Before contacting the race management, it is expected that the rider has taken a critical view of his equipment, and possibly tried on other equipment as well. A dispensation will usually require an impartial test in a recognized laboratory, if you cannot prove your performance in any other way.
• The race management reserves the right to analyze the participants' race data and possibly disqualify riders it finds have ridden dishonestly or otherwise unintentionally, for example, but not limited to, exploiting weaknesses in hardware and software, such as "Stop and Go".

9. Miscellaneous

The race management reserves the right to change the regulations at any time, if there are provisions that prove inappropriate in relation to running a fair league, or if there should be changes in the framework for running the league.

Participation in the eCKD New Year Series is at your own expense and risk. e-Cycle Klub Danmark and its management can in no way be held responsible for damages and losses that can be related to participation in the eCKD New Year Series. Likewise, e-Cykle Klub Danmark and its management are not responsible for errors, operational problems, etc. on the race platform.
